In Year 8, students are given more scope with subject selection and have the opportunity to engage in two electives over the course of the year. They include options from the HSIE, TAS, CAPA and Computing faculties.

These elective choices are in addition to our core subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, PDHPE, Mandatory Technology, CAPA.
Year 8 students are encouraged to get involved in activities such as
- SRC
- Minecraft Club
- School Gym
- Subject specific excursions…
- HSIE - Aquarium/IMAX
- Wellbeing - Year 8 Rewards Day
Year 8 Advisor
I enjoy my privileged role as Year Adviser. I look after Year 8 students by:
Providing guidance for and promoting the welfare of students in the Year:
- To support individual students through difficult times
- To monitor trends in individual students relating to – academic progress, classroom behaviour, attendance, social behaviour, adjustment etc and to refer, where necessary to counsellor, Principal, Deputy Principal, Head Teacher Wellbeing etc
Initiating and organising cohort assemblies, excursions and year meetings:
- To promote, organise and attend (when possible) camps and excursions
- Assist with parent teacher nights, transition nights & subject selections
As the interface between home and school:
- To provide the initial point of contact for parents
- To provide liaison between parents and the school
As a member of the School Welfare Team:
- To participate in the development and implementation of school policy relating to Student Welfare
- To attend Welfare meetings
